Impact of Global Warming on Nutritional Status: A Recent Perspectives

Abstract

Background: Global warming has a negative impact on various aspects, including on community diet. Indirectly, the impact of extreme hot weather compromise food crops grow increasing food availability and accessibility.

Target: Toddlers under five.

Objective: Analyse whether global warming impacts nutritional status of under five global wise.

Methods: This study uses SDGs indicator data related to stunting and global warming in the country. This study uses the ordinary least square (OLS) method in the same year or periodically.

Results: This study shows that global warming has a negative impact on stunting rates in the areas that are vulnerable to extreme weather, which will result in a food crisis.

Conclusion: Countries are needed to prevent global warming, through pro-environmental actions and mitigate side effect of climate change. Developing crop varieties that are resistant to climate change, such as drought or high temperatures, can be a solution to reduce the risk of crop failure. In addition, investment in irrigation infrastructure, efficient water management, and diversification of food sources can improve food security and minimize stunting risks.
