Hunger Alleviation in Africa: Perspective of an Horticultural Agronomist

Abstract

Objectives: To assess horticultural models for micro nitrient hunger alleviation in Africa.

Methods: We summarized five different intelligent agronomic model that significantly improved vegetable productivity, income, health, employment and could solve hidden hunger menace in the continent.

Results: Our agronomic model significantly improved vegetable productivity, income, health, employment and could solve hidden hunger menace in the continent.

Conclusions: What is needed is commitment to utilize findings. Governments must come to understand that if they are to succeed against the hidden hunger war, they must enlist the understanding, then the active co-operation and the assistance of the people who are most affected by the crisis not only on the international levels, but on local villages and most importantly on individual family units.
